KingTaurus2104 | For example, Is Venus strongest in her own signs, Taurus and Libra or in her exaltated position Pisces? |
Ami Anne | *I* think the dignity is stronger cuz the more at home the planet is, the stronger it is. I could be wrong ,though lol------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs |

NickiG | i get sudden intuitions when i talk to ami about my chart, and i always feel that the planets i have at home in their own signs are stronger than my other planets, for example, i have pluto and mars conjunct in scorpio and saturn in capricorn....i also have jupiter exhalted in cancer opposing saturn...i feel saturn is definitely stronger ------------------ What happens on Venus stays on Venus -Nasa |
Lonake | Yes indeed |
nordicsoul | Morin gives 5 points to planets in domicile, while 4 to planets in exaltation. so, domicile is stronger |

You know, this just hit me ,Nicki. *I* bring you Neptune and Mercury,synastry-wise. You bring me Pluto and Mars. *I* am getting stronger in an assertive way. You are getting more intuitive lol ------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs |

Agreed. Saturn in cap is stronger than Mars in cap...I have both. Mars shares with Neptune but Saturn swamps Venus. ------------------ He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. VenusDiSirius | I find exaltation more productive,as higher form. E.g Aries Mars vs Capricorn Mars. Warrior vs General. |
alanabelle86 | Exaltation. I think of it like this: Fall- Planet acts completely disoriented Detriment- Planet acts uncomfortable Dignity- Planet acts comfortable, the way its "supposed" to act b/c it's "at home" Exaltation- Planet acts at best and is most productive as possible (by sign anyway). Like the post above mine, it's like Mars in Aries being the Warrior and being promoted to a General in Capricorn. ------------------ Unlock your true potential! letram | i like the theory on exaltation, the mars/capricorn/aries analogy is excellent. i wouldnt say its necessarily so though. i found this topic interesting because i have about 4 dignified planets. i have Sun in leo Venus in Libra Saturn in Capricorn Pluto in scorpio Mercury in virgo (in the 3rd to help) i think my jupiter in cancer is exalted. i have a grand square, success doesnt come to me much, its pretty good when it does atleast. |
Lonake | I believe Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. |
NickiG | it is lonake ------------------ What happens on Venus stays on Venus -Nasa |
letram | i made a mistake, my jupiter is in cancer (sorry jupiter, i do forget about you chilling back there behind my asc) in a way i kinda wish my dignified planets had rulersi n another sign for my spice. |
Lonake | Letram's just fabulous all around. |
12thhouser | It's noticeable that many people rely on the numeric value (domicile 5, exaltation 4, etc.) rather than their own experience. Plenty of astrologers (professionals and hobbyists) claim that exaltation is stronger. As someone who has planets both in domicile and exaltation, I feel my exalted planets acting more strongly than those in domicile. People can argue these ancient systems all they want, I'll go with my experience of exaltation being stronger. |

Pisces is the best sign for Venus but it's strongest in the signs it rules, Taurus and Libra. Venus' best qualities will shine forth when it is in Pisces, attracting love and fortune to the native. It can work for good or bad in the sign it rules but never as good as it can in the sign Pisces. |
Kerosene | Planets feel at home in its own signs, they're comfortable and happy. Planets exalted are at vacation or party mode, but sometimes they miss their home and may not function as consistently. I read this analogy in some astrology book.Exalted planets always bring fortune related to the house its in. |
inthemisosoup | Depends more on aspects than sign I'd say. For example, a jupiter domicile or exalted still wouldn't function too well if it was harshly aspecting a personal planet or, say, saturn. I have two domicile planets, no exalted...jupiter in pisces and pluto in scorpio. Pluto also domicile in the 8th house...but although plutonian energy comes easily to me it is conjunct my very detrimented venus which makes love/beauty especially intense and obsessive...not the easiest approach imo. Overall I'd say exaltation I prefer to domicile but domicile is just below it. I also prefer detriment to fall. |

Makes sense. |
vickymadness | Exaltation = Planet's energy at its best, but not controlled ( excessive energy). Think about Venus and Pisces ... Pisces is the most artistic and feminine of all signs, no surprise it is Venus's exaltation. But what I can't understand is why till now astrologers haven't assigned dignities to the new rulers ( neptune, uranus and pluto ) And I also can't quite digest how mars can be exalted in a feminine/dry sign as Capricorn :/
|
Kerosene | ^ Mars in Aries would be the warrior. Mars Capricorn would be the general, it becomes more focused and goal oriented. Mars is quite dry too, it hates being in fertile and intimate signs. |
